Stile Antico is an ensemble of young British singers, fast gaining recognition as one of the most original and exciting new exponents of 16th century sacred music. Working without a conductor, each member contributes artistically to an exquisite result.
At the heart of religious disputes which ravaged 16th century England, Tallis and Byrd both embody two opposing tendencies, but the creativity of both masters thrived on such constraints as they dedicated themselves to the service of their art and of God.
